my Dad also served on the Stentor and was with the group left to occupy the Japenese navel base in Shangai in 1945 or 46. I would like to put him in touch with some of the crew and make him a scrap book for Christmas. His name was Gene King from Arkansas and he was a radioman. He also has stories to tell, but I'm ashamed to say I'm just now realizing that he may not always be around to tell them and I haven't paid that much attention in the past.
